Texas Authorizes San Antonio River Authority to Impose Ad Valorem Tax

The Texas legislature passed a law relating to the organizational structure and powers of the San Antonio River Authority (SARA). The law authorizes SARA to impose ad valorem tax at a pre-approved rate which shall not exceed two cents on every $100 of the assessed valuation of taxable property. The law takes effect Sept. 1.
