Texas Comptroller Amends Regulation on Rural Law Enforcement Salary Assistance Program

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts adopted amendments to regulations concerning the Rural Law Enforcement Salary Assistance Program. The amendments modify definition of “grant” to clarify sources of funding, clarify that other law may allow the comptroller to deny an application, remove duplicative statutory references, and make other changes related to the administration of grants for qualified sheriff’s offices, constable’s offices, and prosecutor’s offices in rural counties.
