Texas Comptroller Issues Franchise, Sales Tax Nexus Information for Remote Sellers

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Aug. 17 issued information on corporate income and sales and use tax nexus for remote sellers. Remote sellers are out-of-state sellers whose only activity in the state is the remote solicitation of sales, which includes activities such as soliciting sales through the internet or telephone. Remote sellers have tax collection and reporting obligations if they have economic nexus in the state.
