The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Jan. 1 published lists of school district, city, county, and special district property tax rates and levies for 2023, as well as a list of total tax rates. The state law requires the comptroller’s office to prepare a list that includes the total tax rate imposed by each taxing unit in the state, as reported to the comptroller by each appraisal district.
