Texas Comptroller Publishes Excise Tax Information on Cigarette, Tobacco Non-Retailer Permit Renewals

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Feb. 1 published information on non-retailer permits for cigarette and tobacco products, for excise tax purposes. The publication includes: 1) that current non-retailer permits for these products expire on Feb. 29; 2) renewal packets with preprinted applications were mailed from the Comptroller’s office to all cigarette, cigar and/or tobacco products manufacturers, importers, distributors, bonded agents, export warehouses, import warehouses, and wholesalers to renew their non-retailer permits for March 1, 2024, through Feb. 28, 2025; 3) non-retailers need to review the preprinted information, make any corrections, sign the renewal form, and return all packets and ...
