Texas Comptroller Publishes Frequently Asked Questions on Coastal Protection Fee

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts March 31 published frequently asked questions (FAQ) on the coastal protection fee. The FAQ answers explain that: 1) the fee is levied on all crude oil and condensate transferred to or from vessels at marine terminals in Texas; 2) the coastal protection fee report and payment are due no later than the last day of the month following the month during which the transfers subject to the fee occurred; 3) the fee is 1.333 cents per barrel of crude oil or condensate, but can be increased to 4 cents per barrel in certain circumstances; ...
