Texas Dispute Over Property Tax on Private Planes Mostly Tossed

A Texas corporation and its owner didn’t exhaust administrative remedies before filing most of their claims to challenge personal property tax bills on four private planes, a state appeals court ruled Thursday.

Only a challenge to tax on a Raytheon aircraft for 2022 will go forward after the Texas Court of Appeals, 13th District, ruled that claims for the three other planes for 2022 and all four aircraft for 2023 and 2024 should have been dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
