Texas Governor Signs Law Creating Tax Exemption for Transfers of Vehicles From Estates, Trusts

The Texas Governor signed a law creating an exemption for the transfer of motor vehicles from estates and trusts to beneficiaries, from certain taxes. The exemption applies to qualifying transfers from estates, irrevocable trusts, and revocable trusts formerly controlled by the decedent. The law takes effect Sept. 1. [S.B. 2064, enacted 06/20/25]
