Texas Justices Asked to Revive Power Line Valuation Challenge

Oncor Electric Delivery Co. wants the Texas Supreme Court to let it challenge the $55 million market valuation of its transmission lines in one Texas county, arguing it isn’t bound by a predecessor’s settlement.

Oncor is challenging an appeals court ruling that Sharyland Utilities LP’s agreement with the Wilbarger County Appraisal District made final the value of the lines within the county for 2019. The company argued in a merits brief Wednesday that the settlement doesn’t prevent the courts from correcting a clerical error that over-calculated the length of power lines in the county.
