Utah Tax Commission Amends Rules Regarding Property Tax Relief

The Utah State Tax Commission adopted amendments to property tax regulations on property tax relief. The amended regulations clarify residency requirements for indigent individuals, require written notice for denied claims, specify how to calculate household income and property taxes accrued, permit certain mobile home owners to claim multiple credits, address the treatment of welfare and housing assistance payments, and provide extensions for filing relief applications under specific circumstances.
