The Utah State Tax Commission May 1 announced the changes to local sales tax rates, effective July 1. The announcement includes: 1) the repeal of Brigham City mass transit taxes; 2) imposing a sales tax rate of 6.35 percent on Brigham City; 3) a sales tax rate of 0.3 percent imposed on Iron County to fund transportation; and 4) the new filing requirements for sales taxes at the new rates.
