Utah Tax Commission Announces Sales Tax Rate Changes

The Utah State Tax Commission issued a bulletin announcing several changes to sales and use tax rates, effective April 1. The Commission notes that: 1) Cache and Sevier Counties will impose a 0.3 percent county option sales and use tax for transportation funding; 2) Huntsville will impose a one percent town option tax and a 0.2 percent city/town option tax; 3) Mapleton and Saratoga Springs will implement a 0.1 percent botanical, cultural, recreational, and zoological tax; 4) Hatch will begin collecting a 1.1 percent resort communities tax; and 5) Big Water will repeal its resort communities tax.
