The Virginia Governor signed a law expanding provisions allowing for the nonjudicial sale of certain property for delinquent property taxes. The law authorizes the nonjudicial sale of real property assessed at more than $25,000 but no more than $40,000 if: 1) the taxes are delinquent for at least three years; 2) the property is not subject to a recorded mortgage or deed of trust lien; and 3) such property is unimproved, one-half acre or less in size, and located within a designated urban redevelopment or revitalization zone.
