Virginia Governor Signs Law Removing Motor Vehicle Rental Tax Return Filing Requirement for Rentors

The Virginia Governor Feb. 19 signed a law removing a monthly motor vehicle rental excise tax return filing requirement for rentors. The law includes a measure removing the requirement that a motor vehicle rentor must file the return with the Tax Commissioner even though the dealer isn’t liable to remit any tax for the period covered by the return.
