Virginia Tax Department Issues Information on Items Qualifying for Exemption During Sales Tax Holiday

The Virginia Department of Taxation Aug. 5 issued information that the state’s sales tax holiday weekend begins Aug. 7 at 12:01 a.m. and ends Aug. 9 at 11:59 p.m. During the holiday period, sales and use taxes won’t be collected on school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness products, and Energy Star and WaterSense products.
