Virginia Tax Department Issues New Taxable Sales and Use by Locality Schedule, Instructions for 2024

The Virginia Department of Taxation has issued Taxable Sales and Use by Locality Schedule ST-1A, a new form used to compute sales and use tax by Virginia locality. The new form replaces multiple forms and is required for taxable sales or use or business consumer’s use to report, and the business is registered as: 1) an In-State Retailer doing business in multiple Virginia localities (Consolidated Filers); 2) an In-State Retailer registered as “Non-fixed” (mobile vendors who don’t have a fixed place of business); 3) an Out-of-State Dealers/Remote Sellers; 4) Business Consumer’s Use taxpayers; or 5) Direct Pay Permit Holders.
