March 23, 2026, 8:57 PM UTC

The Washington Governor signed a law that amends RCW 50A.10.030, to modify the distribution of employer and employee contributions between family and medical leave premiums, in response to federal guidance on tax liability issues. The law includes changes to how employers may deduct premiums from employee wages, allowing full deduction for medical leave premiums and a calculated amount for family leave premiums, based on a formula that includes 45 percent of the medical leave premium. The law takes effect June 11. [H.B. 2345, enacted 03/11/26]
