Washington Amends Estate Tax Exclusions, Calculations

The Washington Governor signed a law amending estate tax provisions. The law modifies the applicable exclusion amounts and tax calculation tables for estates of decedents dying on or after Jan. 1, 2026. The legislation establishes a $3,076,000 exclusion amount for estates of decedents dying after Jan. 1, 2026, but before July 1, 2026, and also establishes a $3,000,000 exclusion amount for estates of decedents dying after July 1, 2026. The law takes effect June 11. [S.B. 6347, enacted 03/24/26]
