Washington BTA Finds Taxpayer Entitled to Senior Property Tax Exemption

The Washington Board of Tax Appeals (BTA) issued a decision granting taxpayer’s appeal for a senior property tax exemption in King County for the 2022 tax year. Taxpayer initially had her exemption denied by the King County Assessor and Board of Equalization due to exceeding the income limit based on her original 2022 tax return. However, taxpayer later filed an amended return showing her income was below the $58,423 limit after correcting a mistake on her rental income.
