The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 26 announced a local sales and use tax rate increase of 0.001 percent in the city of Vancouver, effective April 1. Businesses must collect the appropriate new rate of sales tax for retail sales and services provided within the city. Persons or businesses within the city are subject to the new use tax rate on items purchased for their personal or business use if the sales tax hasn’t been paid.
