Washington DOR Announces Increased Local Sales Tax Rate for City of Seattle Transportation Benefit District

The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 27 announced that effective April 1, the city of Seattle establishes a new Transportation Benefit District and the city’s sales and use tax rate increases by 0.0015 to fund transportation services. The announcement provides a table with information on the tax rate changes arranged according to: 1) location; 2) location code number; 3) local sales tax rate; 4) state sales tax rate; and 5) total sales tax rate.
