Washington DOR Announces Increased Sales Tax Rate for City of Lake Stevens, New Transportation District

The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 26 announced that effective April 1, a Transportation Benefit District (TBD) is established in the city of Lake Stevens, and the city’s sales and use tax rate will increase by two-tenths of one percent (0.002) to fund transportation services. Businesses must collect the appropriate new rate of sales tax on retail sales and services provided within the city.
