Washington DOR Announces Sales and Use Tax Rate Change for City of Longview

The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 26 announced that effective April 1, the local sales and use tax rate within city of Longview increases by one-tenth of one percent (0.001) to fund housing and related services. The announcement includes that: 1) businesses must collect sales tax at the appropriate new rate for retail sales and services provided within the city; and 2) the new rate of use tax will apply to individuals or businesses within the city on items purchased for their personal or business use if sales tax isn’t paid.
