Washington DOR Announces Sales and Use Tax Rate Change for Kitsap County

The Washington Department of Revenue Feb. 1 announced new location codes for Kitsap County emergency communication tax and housing and related services, effective April 1. The new location code is established within Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Poulsbo, and Suquamish Tribe. Businesses must collect the appropriate new rates of sales and use tax for retail sales and services provided within the county. The local sales and use tax within the county will increase 0.002 percent, except for Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo, which will increase by 0.001 percent. [Wash.
