Washington DOR Announces Sales Tax Change for City of Shoreline

The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Feb. 14 announced that the city of Shoreline will establish a Transportation Benefit District, effective April 1. Sales and use tax within the city will increase two-tenths of one percent (.002), to a local sales tax rate of 0.37 percent. The tax will be used for transportation services. Businesses must collect the appropriate new rate of sales tax for retail sales and services provided within the city.
