Washington DOR Announces Sales Tax Rate Change for City of Covington Transportation Benefit District

The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) May 1 announced that effective July 1, the sales and use tax rate within the city of Covington will increase one-tenth of one percent (0.001) to fund transportation services. The new retail sales tax rate in the Covington Transportation Benefit District will be 0.085 and the total combined tax rate is 0.113, including the convention and trade center tax rate of 0.028.
