The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) April 26 announced that effective July 1, the local sales and use tax rates within Clallam County, except for Port Angeles, will increase by 0.001 percent to fund housing and related services. The announcement includes that: 1) businesses must collect sales tax at the appropriate new rate for retail sales and services provided within the county; and 2) the new rate of use tax will apply to individuals or businesses within the county on items purchased for their personal or business use if sales tax isn’t paid.
