The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 25 announced that the local sales and use tax within Stevens County will increase by four-tenths of one percent (.004). The tax will be used for criminal justice, public safety purposes, and juvenile detention facilities and jails. Businesses must collect the new sales tax rate for retail sales and services provided within the county.
