Washington DOR Announces Sales Tax Rate Change for Vancouver Transportation Benefit District, Effective April 1 (Notice 2 of 2)

The Washington Department of Revenue Jan. 26 announced that the city of Vancouver will establish a Transportation Benefit District and the city’s sales and use tax rate will increase by one-tenth of one percent (0.001) to fund transportation services, effective April 1. Businesses must collect the appropriate new rate of sales tax for retail sales and services provided within the city. Taxpayers within the city will be subject to the new rate of use tax on items purchased for their personal or business use if sales tax isn’t paid.
