Washington DOR Announces Sales Tax Rate Changes for King County Cultural Access Programs

The Washington Department of Revenue Jan. 11 announced that effective April 1 the local sales and use tax within King County will increase one-tenth of one percent (0.001) except for Issaquah and Renton which will increase by two-tenths of one percent (0.002). The tax will be used for cultural access programs. Businesses must collect sales tax at the appropriate new rates for retail sales and services provided within the county.
