Washington DOR Issues Excise Tax Information on City of Redmond Business License Requirements, Fees

The Washington Department of Revenue Jan. 1 issued information on business license requirements and fees for the city of Redmond, for excise tax purposes. The city imposes: 1) variable origination and renewal fees on non-resident businesses earning over $2,000 in gross annual income within the city’s limits, general businesses, and home businesses; 2) no origination or renewal fees on nonprofit businesses and businesses exempt from the city licensing fee; 3) a $5 fee to register a business name as a trade name; 4) no state tax registration fees; and 5) a variable business license application fee.
