The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) issued a special notice on the surcharge on high grossing businesses. The notice states that beginning Jan. 1, 2026, businesses with Washington taxable income of $250 million or more in a calendar year are subject to a surcharge in addition to the business and occupation (B&O) tax. Certain amounts are excluded from the surcharge. The rate is 0.5 percent of certain Washington taxable income over $250 million. The surcharge expires Dec. 31, 2029. [Wash.
