The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) proposed amendments to regulations on sales of precious metal bullion and monetized bullion to conform with ESSB 5794 of 2025 that repealed the tax exclusion for these sales. The amendments clarify that effective Jan. 1, sales of precious metal bullion and monetized bullion became subject to business and occupation tax and retail sales tax, reversing the tax exclusion that had been in place from July 1, 1985, through Dec. 31, 2025.
