The Washington Department of Revenue (DOR) Dec. 1 published FAQs on estate taxes. Deceased individuals who resided in Washington or non-residents who owned property in the state may owe an estate tax depending on the value of their estate. The FAQs include: 1) the definition, application, and filing and exclusions thresholds; 2) the calculation for the valuation of assets; 3) taxable and nontaxable estates; 4) information on payment, filing returns, interest rates, late payment or filing penalties; and 5) deductions.
