West Virginia Requires Managed Timberland Property Tax Certification Every Five Years

The West Virginia Governor signed a law concerning taxation of managed timber. The law includes changing to every 5 years the frequency for certification to the Division of Forestry by owners of managed timberland that the property meets the definition of managed timberland for property tax purposes. The law takes effect on July 6. [H.B. 2399, enacted 04/25/25]
