The West Virginia Tax Division announced upcoming social security modifications for senior citizens. The Tax Division stated that, beginning in tax year 2024, a taxpayer with a federal adjusted gross income of more than $50,000, or more than $100,000 for joint filers, will be able to take a decreasing modification of 35 percent of their social security income. This will increase to 65 percent for tax year 2025, and then 100 percent in tax year 2026 to reach a 100 percent social security income decreasing modification. [W. Va.
