The West Virginia Tax Division has published guidance regarding the Disabled Veteran Real Property Tax Credit available for qualifying veterans. The credit is available to honorably discharged veterans who are 90-100 percent permanently and totally disabled, own and occupy a residential homestead for at least six months, pay their property taxes on time (first half before Oct. 1 and second half before April 1), and file a West Virginia Personal Income Tax Return with form DV-1 along with required documentation including property tax receipts and their Disability Rating letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
