West Virginia is poised to enact a $754 million tax cut package with personal income tax cuts and property tax rebates for businesses under a bill Gov. Jim Justice (R) said he’ll sign this week.
Lawmakers approved a bill (HB 2526) to implement an across-the-board tax rate cut of about 21.25% for all income brackets. The package also will provide a rebate on vehicle taxes, a credit for property taxes for disabled veterans, and a refundable credit against income tax based on 50% of property taxes paid on machinery, equipment, and inventory.
