Wisconsin DOR Clarifies Impact of USPS Changes on Timeliness of Property Tax Payments

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) announced that, effective Dec. 24, the United States Postal Service (USPS) is moving the postmark process from local application to regional sorting centers, raising concerns about the timeliness of property tax payments. Taxpayers are encouraged to mail their payments earlier than usual. The DOR also clarified the relationship between the postmark date and property tax payment timeliness. [Wisc.
