Wisconsin DOR Publishes Withholding Tax Guide for Withholding Periods Beginning on, After Jan. 1, 2022

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) Oct. 1 published an updated withholding tax guide, effective for withholding periods beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2022, for corporate income and individual income tax purposes. The DOR revised withholding tables and alternate methods of withholding. Employers should implement them no later than Jan. 1, 2022. The guide includes: 1) information on a Wisconsin withholding tax number, Form WT-4, Wisconsin Withholding Exemption Certificate, and a special Minnesota withholding arrangement; 2) withholding requirements for nonresident employers, nonresident entertainers, and noncash fringe benefits; 3) the withholding treatment of wages paid to residents who work outside ...
