Homeowners in Wyoming will be able to exclude 25% of the first $1 million of their homes’ market value from property taxation.
Gov. Mark Gordon (R) signed a bill Tuesday (SF 69) allowing the exemption starting this year. Beginning in 2026, the benefit will be available only to owners who lived in the home for at least eight months.
- Originally the bill appropriated money from the General Fund and a reserve fund for the Revenue Department to reimburse local governments for the revenue losses, but the provisions were eliminated from the measure before passage.
