ACA Enrollment Drop for 2026 Predicted Unless Congress Acts Soon

Obamacare enrollees will be notified of health plan rates increasing in the coming weeks if Congress fails to extend crucial Affordable Care Act tax credits at the center of a major government funding dispute.

Letters informing plan subscribers of rate hikes are expected to go out in October and could result in significant policy cancellations, health providers and policy analysts told Bloomberg Government. Notices of next year’s premiums must be sent out before the start of open enrollment for the federal ACA marketplace Nov. 1.
