The American Institute of CPAs said it’s dismayed that the IRS and Treasury still haven’t extended tax filing and payment deadlines despite the upcoming Monday due date for certain businesses.
March 16 is this year’s deadline for S corporations and partnerships to file their tax returns. The president on Friday declared a national emergency under the Stafford Act, which should give the IRS the authority it needs to extend that due date and waive penalties and interest for taxpayers who file or pay their taxes late.
