The Arkansas Governor signed a law combining the offices of county treasurer and tax collector in Arkansas County into one office. The law includes: 1) providing that voters will elect one individual to serve as both treasurer and tax collector in the 2026 general election; and 2) the elected officer will take office on Jan. 1, 2027. The law takes effect 91 days after the final adjournment of the legislative session. [H.B. 1591, enacted 04/03/25]
