Audit Firms Pressed to Reveal Details on Staffing, Finance (1)

Investors are poised to get their hands on a suite of new disclosures covering audit firm governance and staffing after more than a decade of lobbying for such transparency about the work that goes into vetting corporate accounting.

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board on Thursday voted 4-1 to adopt a pair of rule changes that would expand the information auditors must provide to the regulator and the public. The reforms address longstanding investor demands for greater insights into the quality of audits and stem from recommendations that date back to 2008.
