Australia is providing tax practitioners with guidelines for understanding their statutory obligations to behave ethically when using artificial intelligence tools in their work.
The Tax Practitioner Board has opened consultations on draft guidance to help tax agents “embrace the benefits of AI with confidence,” while complying with their mandatory code of conduct and other professional ethical standards.
- The exposure draft isn’t a definitive or technical guide to AI systems, but it provides clear guardrails to ensure they are used responsibly, TPB Chair Peter de Cure said in a statement.
