Austria Floats Amendments to Its Global Minimum Tax Rules

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance is seeking feedback on proposed amendments to national rules implementing a global minimum tax for large corporate groups.

The proposal—released for public consultation Thursday—incorporates the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s administrative guidelines of Dec. 15, 2023, May 24, 2024, and Jan. 13, 2025.

It includes clarifications of the tax treatment of fully transparent, hybrid, and reverse hybrid entities; additional rules for the recognition and reconciliation of deferred taxes; and adjustments to transitional safe harbors designed to temporarily ease compliance burdens.
