Austria MOF Announces Extension of Tax Relief Measures Due to Coronavirus

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance Nov. 21 announced the extension of tax relief measures provided due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement explains extensions to: 1) Dec. 31, 2021, for the reduced 5 percent sales tax rate for the gastronomy, hotel, and cultural industries; 2) March 31, 2021, from Jan. 15, 2021, for tax deferrals and interest waivers; 3) March 31, 2021, for temporary employee measures, such as the exempt treatment of overtime surcharges and certain allowances; and 4) Dec. 31, 2022, for the zero percent VAT rate on deliveries, intra-community acquisitions, and imports of COVID-19 vaccines and tests. ...
