Belgium to Extend 6% VAT Rate on Power & Gas by 3 Months: HLN

The Belgian government will extend the 6% value-added tax rate on power and gas, a reduction from the regular 21%, by three months until the end of March, Het Laatste Nieuws reports, citing a decision made last night at a meeting of the Prime Minister Alexander De Croo with his deputy prime ministers.

  • Belgium will also extend reduced power and gas prices for lowest incomes by three months until March 31
  • Reduced VAT rate for solar panels, solar boilers and heat pumps will be extended until end of 2023
