BGOV OnPoint: Democrats Announce Plan to Address Debt Limit

Democratic leaders are planning to vote on a measure that would suspend the debt limit through December 2022, setting up a clash with Republicans as default risks come into view.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said the debt limit provision would be attached to a continuing resolution to keep the government funded past Sept. 30.
